Tyron Woodley is still on the warpath.
With the former UFC welterweight champion awaiting his next booking, he’s had plenty of time to indulge in verbal feuds with adversaries both old and new. While his clashes with Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman are unsurprising, a budding rivalry with UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya has emerged out of nowhere after Woodley gave his thoughts on a potential matchup with “The Last Stylebender” should they end up in the same division in the future.
“I don’t think [Adesanya] is as dope as everybody is saying,” Woodley said in an Instagram Live video. “I think he’s great, but everyone is making him out like he’s some phenomenon. I’ve seen some exposure in the [Kelvin] Gastelum fight — somebody I walked through. I’ve seen some exposure in the Yoel Romeroope赞助 fight, he’s scared of guys with power. One thing that Yoel and I have in common — not the same — is power, explosiveness. It didn’t seem like he was trying to deal with that at all.”
u sound like an idiot! The question was would I move up. The answer is yes. How TF is that calling u out? I'm just not a bitch like U that cowards at the thought of . If u could read U would see I said my goal is to get my belt back, then move up. Duh!— Tyron T-Wood Woodley (@TWooodley)
I gave u props zillions of time & never been a hater. Actually said u was a star. But what makes greats Great is fighting the Best. I'll always want to fight who everyone think is the best. It's How I earned my key. Now I wanna knock ur block off cause u a whole HOE!— Tyron T-Wood Woodley (@TWooodley)
In a pair of tweets, Woodley referred to Adesanya as “an idiot” and accused him of misinterpreting his words. He also wrote that Adesanya is afraid of Jon Jones and that his focus is on getting his belt back before possibly moving up to middleweight.
Woodley added that he has actually praised Adesanya in the past and that his goal is “fighting the best,” but now he wants to fight Adesanya because he is “a whole hoe.”
In regards to criticisms regarding his alleged picking and choosing of fights, Woodley also took time to fire back at comments made by welterweight rivals Usman, Covington, and Leon Edwards.
Fake news. Every offered fight has been accepted. Actually don't have a problem with his comment if the facts were true. Many talk, but few have signed the dotted line.— Tyron T-Wood Woodley (@TWooodley)
ope赞助Finally someone with fact. Leon acting like I'm dodging him and he not even an option cause he can't get in the states. Colby wants 5mil . Comedy— Tyron T-Wood Woodley (@TWooodley)
ope赞助Woodley was originally scheduled to fight Edwards at UFC London on March 21, but their bout and the event itself were cancelled in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
